RULES OF FOOTGOLF
FootGolf is a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf. The game is played with a regulation #5 soccer ball at a golf course facility on shortened holes with 21-inch diameter cups. The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf. FootGolf as a game is played throughout the world in many different forms, but as a sport, it is regulated by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG).

DRESS CODE
When competing players must wear official uniform including headwear and layered garments. At official functions the dress code will be decided by each FIFG representative.
The dress code is smart casual
(no sportswear)
As per FIFG Guidelines long socks must be worn to the knee at all times and Golf style shorts be worn.
Players are NOT permitted to wear individual sponsors on official kit.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Alcohol & Smoking
Alcohol cannot be consumed on the course (Except in the Bar Zones). Players cannot consume alcohol when playing.
Smoking inc electronic cigarettes on the course is strictly prohibited by competing players.
Caddies
Caddies are permitted under the following guidelines.
A caddie:

Can NOT be a player within any category in the individual event (exception)

Must be clearly identified and wear a bib at all times on the course

Must be identified before the start of play and cannot be changed during play (See Tournament Office)

Can ONLY caddie for one player per group*
*It is permitted to caddy for one player in R1 AM and another R1 PM
Exception : In the team event any player is eligible to caddie
Communication
-
Players in the individual event will only be permitted to communicate (advice FIFG Rule 3-3-1) with official designated team managers/coaches, captain or President outside of their group (Each MUST be clearly identified on the course at all times)

Players in the team event can communicate with all registered players, caddies and officials from their country
Note : In the team event only players and caddies competing are allowed on the playing zones

Players are not allowed to communicate with supporters at all times.

Tournament Meeting
A meeting will take place from 1830-1930 in the tournament office on each night from Sunday 9 December to Saturday 15 December. The team captain and/or FIFG representative is invited to attend.
Tournament Office
Each hotel will have a Tournament HQ with information, scores and tee times. Each venue will have a tournament office with the main office located at Al Maaden.
Game Suspension

Golf Carts
Players are not permitted to use golf carts including carrying their equipment.
Each country will have the option to rent one golf cart (Teams with 16+ players will have two carts) for officials ONLY.
In terms of the FIFG rules this cart will belong to the kicking player of the same association.
See 4-1-13 and 4-1-14. Golf carts must remain on the cart path where possible and can NOT enter any playing zone
Supporters
Supporters are kindly requested to NOT enter the playing zones. They are NOT allowed onto tees, fairways or green zones including Golf greens. They are NOT permitted to communicate with players. Please remain on cart paths where possible

The following rules apply :
Practice is open to competitors ONLY.
Each group will feature a minimum of four and a maximum of five players.
Each country must detail which players are within each flight.
A single player can be added to any group that does not consist of five players.
Teams practicing on Saturday 8 December will only be allowed to play one course on Sunday 9 December after 10:00 until open practice at 15:00.
Ladies and Seniors will be allowed to reserve Al Maaden 2 from 08:00 to 09:30 on Sunday 9 December
On Sunday 9 December after 15:00 both courses at Al Maaden are open for practice for ALL players.
Pace of play is important and players must allow quicker groups to play through.
Coaches, caddies and reserves ARE NOT entitled to practice
Note: As per FIFG Rule 2-2-11 Players are NOT permitted to practice the course during the tournament week before or inbetween rounds or during the round.
